National Lutheran Secretariat Annual Gathering and Business Meeting - 2024

Registration is open for our Via de Cristo National Lutheran Secretariat Annual Gathering! Catch up with one another over lunchtime discussions and explore Las Vegas while sharing what you’ve learned with others. Join in worship and contribute your experiences in workshops, as we plan together to strengthen and renew our community!  

When: July 25, 2024 from 1pm through July 28, 2024 at 10am PST

Where: The Plaza Hotel & Casino, 1 South Main Street, Las Vegas, NV 89101

Speakers:

• Keynote: “Let us throw off everything that hinders…”by Dr. Mark Wickstrom, Sr. Pastor of Community Lutheran Church in Las Vegas
• Forum #1/Breakout: “Since we are surrounded by such as great cloud of witnesses…” by Marty Harpster
• Forum #2/Breakout: “Fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfector of faith…” by a panel composed of Rev. Sue Beall, Tracey Schmidlin and Ken Larson
• Forum #3/Breakout: “Pulling it all together” by Jeff Gordon, RN

Note: The Plaza Hotel & Casino is approximately a 30-minute drive from Las Vegas International Airport (LAS). Drivers will be provided to pick up/drop off at the airport.

Preparations:

• Please complete your early bird registration by May 1, 2024 at http://tiny.cc/36w3vz 
• A virtual binder with loads of important information will be available to all participants.
• Only worship services and the business meetings will be available on FaceBook Live.
• If you are interested in serving as a voting delegate for the National Lutheran Secretariat (NLS) annual business meeting, please ask your Secretariat for its approval. 
• Each Secretariat selects a minimum of 2 Lay Delegates and 1 Clergy Delegate based on our current formula to have a voice at each year’s annual meeting. Secretariats will be informed of their final delegate count later this spring, once annual reports are received. 
• Meanwhile you can register for the Annual Gathering as a Non-Voting Participant and your registration can be changed to Lay Delegate after approval by your Secretariat. 
• Prayerfully consider serving on the NLS Executive Committee from 2024-2026 as:
• Spiritual Director
• Treasurer
• Vice President for Administration
